Hey not to do with fisting and stretching, but I'm sure your a kinky enough bunch that someone will have some pointers.
Me and my partner are interested in introducing ropes into play.  Just wondering about what types of rope are good, and any techniques for using them i.e. knots, positions etc.  for use on both her and me.  Also just any good online resources?

Check out twoknottyboys.com.  They have online videos about all sorts of rope related fun. Have fun and be safe.

I assume if you are just introducing ropes, that you are probably more interested in the mental aspects of bondage than the physical discipline/sadomasochism.  If this is so, and/or you are working with a less enthusiastic partner, I would highly recommend that you head down to a local hardware store, and get yourself a couple of twelve to twenty foot lengths of big nylon rope.  By big I mean at least 3/4" if not 1".
Big nylon rope is attractive-clean-white, soft-fuzzy-nice to touch, a little tiny bit stretchy for nicer feeling, and big enough that it is rather unlikely to bite in, pinch or leave bruises or welts.  Also, the big smooth rope is easier to untie when that time comes.
This rope would often be used as docklines or bowlines on boats.
Now for physical stimulation there is a whole different set of criteria, and natural sisal/hemp type ropes have a raw edge to them that can be interesting to some.
