Chat would be cool but I can see where the staff might be hesitant to dedicate all that extra bandwidth and not to mention dedicated servers.

If it is a bandwidth issue there are many other options and free options that we could take advantage of (IRC and more). I run a couple websites and forums along with admining game servers. I think a chat room would be a great idea! Hell I could even help out with creating it. I see no reason why to not have one from the start because it will help get members and populate the site in no time. not to mention how much easier and faster it would be to help people with questions chat and just BS. If we wanted we could have something up at the end of the day!

Might I suggest using Meetcam in the abscence of a forum-side chat room?

I only had a brief look, but it seems that you can have a password-protected webcam session with as many people as you like, perhaps somebody could set up an official fistforum group?

There are many many options that are do-able the thing is we should atleast try to get permission first from the mods. I can set anything up we need this is kinda what I do and I don't mind at all. Really we could have a dedicated cam option and a dedicated chat option. I might if i remember have a chat box i can post in a thread as a reply that everybody can login to. There are plenty of options but what do the mods want and if the mods are not as active as once was, we should look for new more active mods that can improve the site as well as trim the spam from it and know what they are doing...

I like that idea, but cant get past the thought that the site was originally set up as open to any one.

What the mods want, the mods get! We own it, you are a visitor, you might stay here longer if you keep this in mind. This is NOT our first or ONLY forum, we have been doing this a long time. We have found in the past that chat takes some away from posting, What is said in chat is only read by the members who happen to be there at that time, while a forum post can be read by any memeber at any time. As for getting new moderators....what are you gonna do,vote us out and elect a new one? LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP, I have speent many many hours building this forum, posted hundreds of files, you have posted less than 30 posts and very damn few of them useful, so I guess you are now qualified to be a mod? As for "knowing what we are doing, our forums have over a million members, we have some experience, and yes, we know what we are doing, as I have said before,

When posting on the forum is sufficient, we will add a chat room, as for whoever suggested a poll and a vote, this is not a democracy
