Very interesting point, but don't know how it could be set up. We don't use negative karma at all unless someone is way out of order, as we think that if we do not comment on a post, that is enough to show we do not like the post. Whereas a positive response and/or karma shows we really enjoy the effort made by the poster. So multiple karma would be a definate plus to the poster. But is it too much to wait for 12 hour to post more?? Let's see what Fists says, as he will have a good reply no doubt.
I keep encountering the situation where I don't get to come in here as often as I would like, and browsing the threads I find more then one thing that I enjoy watching. In times like that it's REALLY hard not to get the same poster giving above and beyond quality to the forum. Then when I want to give them the +Karma that I think they deserve but am unable. Coming back the next day isn't always an option so I often forget who I was going to give the +K to. It's sometimes very frustrating sometimes. And I agree that there SHOULD be some sort of limit, but I also believe that the veteran posters know the value of Karma, so a limit on WHEN you can have multiple points could be useable.
It could be just like the Titles we get, after a certain number of posts we could get more K available for same posters. That way the people who are not active don't get the benefits. And even people who want to "rush" into getting posts for multiple -k marks could be "flagged" and denied the privilege.
Personally I like the idea and would love to see it applied to our forum, but I don't know how it would be coded. But I have seen something similar done (Withholding the right to vote on a member until a certain number of posts) on a different Forum.
That's my two cents, and I look forward to seeing where this goes (If anywhere ^_^
