On another forum I frequent they have a section for people to post anything they want within reason. It helps keep the other sections clean from bad language, rude comments and saying offensive things. You just don't go there unless you aren't offended.

No doubt we will hear from Fists or Mickey soon enough on whether it is a good idea or not. At least people are suggesting things, trying to keep the forum fresh. To me we don't need it as we have said before, we don't see the need for bad language at any time. But each to their own.

I don't really care about having a section for bad language and rude comments as much as maybe it will keep the bad language out of the rest of the forum.

ain't gonna happen, that would be kinda like having a peeing corner in your hot tub, it would leak out into the rest of the forum. If I allowed you to call me an asshole on one forum, do you really think I would forget it and play nice another?

It works very well on a racing forum I frequent but most people there have thick skin.

I have to assume that the people on the racing forum are not bearing their souls, not to mention their bodies for critisism, I mean you may tell some knucklehead that he could not drive his way out of the garage and his car is a piece of shit, his skin really does not have to be that thick, but if you got on here and insulted some contributing member's naked body, no matter how thick their skin, it would hurt them, and our forum

That's true but if you can't handle the truth or the heat then you shouldn't go into that section.
Actually they get very personal on that site.
The biggest thing is you can vent without worry of being held accountable.

Sorry but no way can I agree with that The best thing about this forum from what I have seen is that every one is treated the same, Just because some may not find your body attractive does not mean the EVERY ONE does not. I’t takes a lot of courage to post pictures and the last thing any one wants to hear are negative comments about them selves or the effort they have put in. Just remember we are dealing with extremely personal and intimate subjects and it is far to easy to hurt some one no matter how well intentional your comments may be. It's not a matter of being truthful or not it's just that if can’t complement some one for a post, then don’t say anything. |

I'm TOTALLY CONFUSED!!! I thought this was a site that welcomed comments and language that was appropriate to the sexual nature of the site. If someone is bashing someome who has been brave enough to share themselves on the site, then I think we all will jump their ASS (is that bad language?). I just think when we're posting the most private of our private selves, maybe "language" should be the least of our worries. "Censorship" is a slippery slope...

Gotcha...that makes total sense. I misread the posts. I guess I couldn't imagine someone making derogatory comments about others and I haven't seen them so I thought it was about language. Anyone who would say something unkind to another person on the forum should be banned. You are right...we are all sharing our most intimate thoughts, parts, etc., and it should be a save haven. I'm sorry if I misunderstood the thread. |
