Would it be possible to get a notification when someone gives you karma where it sends you a message saying when you get it, from who, and a link to the post they "karma'ed" you on. Because a lot of times its pretty impractical for someone to post they did it. Maybe have a link in your profile page that shows all the karmas received so people can see if they have secret admirers. I think it would be nice.  Just my two cents and sorry if this is duplicating another post.

Then it would not be a secret admirer   Grin.   but yes would be nice to know who gave it to you if lucky enough to get it, but quite like the idea too that you just don't know unless they want you to know  Tongue

Lol good point on both counts. And I must admit the not knowing who did it is kinda titillating

Sounds like I good idea analinsertive, it’s probably not possible to do with this type of site.

Like lenny said some like to be a secret admirer and not wanting others to know, but that could be over come by having a “notify Karma” tick box thingy in our profiles.

A lot of members though do actually tell you if and when they give you +K

BTW..+K for having a great idea

I take it back May be great if there was a way of finding out who gave you bad karma ,Would be nice if people leave a reason for negative karma ,But they never seem to Sad  Cus when they don't it just seems to upset people then again wonder if that's there idea (to upset) if it's not the idea to just upset then a reason would make a massive difference , even if it's just to say its not there thing  , but hay if people carry on doing it i guess there just upset and piss off the wonderful people that post and then the forum will be no more  Angry   And idea off that really pisses me off

Personally I think we should get rid of the negative Karma all together. I've never used it but for those of you that have been here a while you know I'll come forward and tell someone if I don't like what they had to say rather then hide behind a negative Karma

I just realised I have almost as much negative as positive, and the negative is rising faster with each post.  Cry

I've only made a few posts... I can't even give it out yet, myself. The couple of +'s I got the person told me. The -'s I have no idea who or why. So I fail to see how it is at all useful since I can't act on it in any way.

I believe we should all be culpable for what we say and do, even on the Internet where we're hidden behind a veil of anonymity. If I say something that offends, I'd rather be notified so I can consider correcting my behaviour. Likewise if I do something people like, an explanation why will allow people to repeat the positive actions and become better posters. The current system is flawed as it doesn't have the ability to give constructive criticism.

If my + and my - become neutral or heaven forbid overall negative, I'd rather revert to a neutral lurker instead of being labeled as a villain and not even know who thinks that or why. I know people say ignore it but I am obsessed with numbers and can't do that. It makes me feel unwelcome to know there is a silent majority that don't like what I have to say - and be unable to act upon it.

I have to agree with ultradude, I to have recently received 3 neg karma & have no idea why. Well I can suspect 2, however the point is, without knowing what triggered negative karma you could continue to reoffend. One possible solution is that each negative karma must come with an anonymous reason/complaint sent directly to the alledged offenders inbox. Given the ability to respond to the a anonymous offendee would allow for dialog and possible resolution in which case the offendee could retract the negative karma. Another option, do away with negative karma, if you are truly offended, report the offender to the Administrator.

The LAST thing I EVER want to do is offend anyone.

Cheers,

Ya, yur right, fuck 'em! It takes bad karma to give bad karma. If I've got a problem with someone, I tell 'em, straight up!

Thanks Buddy,

i may be looking at this all wrong but to me all the -K  mr & mrs jblo have got is a complement in away,

i'm convinced it was done but some one (have my suspicions of who they were) who was totally jealous of the popularity, friendships and respect that every one has for the two of and the fact that your just a down right amazing couple who have some thing they will never have.
