 Is there a way you can block new members from posting new topics until the have a minimum posts.
 It's irritating when new members coming asking the world of the forum when they have participated in it at all.

Well everyone is entitled to their own opinions and need to start on the forum somewhere. Where I agree that some need not be here, they are also entitled., If the moderators so deem someone abusive or repulsive, they will take care of it. Fists and Mickey do a pretty good job of that. In the mean time, you are entitled to give your opinion as well as good or bad karma. Not trying to start anything or defend anyone, just my opinion on the subject.

I am in the middle on this one as we do get a lot of new posters who post outlandish questions or suggestions and then disappear, but then we all had to start somewhere as race so rightly pointed out.  It does seem a huge number post an ad for a meet and then disappear which is a shame, as if they contributed more, they would have a better chance of meeting someone, or perhaps use Fistdating. A number also seem to post questions rather than contributing, as if they just want to get a reponse. I agree that Mickey and Fists do a great job of monitoring the site and obviously they are the one who will give the final say on this.

I've posted before that I'm not really in favour of censorship and the I support freedom of speech so I favour maintaining the status quo, some people will post once and run away, some people will never post and others go on to contribute fully.

Generally I think the way it is now works well but that is down to the huge effort made by the mods which is appreciated.
