Users who post links to download sites are defeating the purpose of this site.
Why should we have to subscribe to other sites when we subscribe here?
These people should be treated as SPAMers.

Says someone who has just 2 posts. To call them SPAMers may be a bit straight forward, but in fact it is against the board rules.

i had a bit more than 2 posts ( or 63 ) and i will give my 2 cent and say that i agree with dingus 100 %... hotlinking here is spaming cause unlike on other forums who r allowing linking, we have here on our forum possibility to keep our movies and pics uploaded here for direct watching...
and one more thing main purpose of linking to depostfiles or other sharing sites here is to bring more paying members to thise sites, cause dling for free is very very VERY slow... u can see that most of files that r spaming lately our forum r MEGABIG files that u need a couple hours to couple days to dl it for free... so if one of ten people ( or 100 egal ) badly wanna see movie he will pay 60 days membership or 30 days membership or what ever ... and spamer has done its job ...

I fall down the middle of the road here. I do like that your files can be kept on this website. The downfall to that is you are limited to some pretty small files.
I have a lot of videos that are in the 1 gig range and it would take forever to put them on the site at less than 10 megs per post.
I think the free file sharing sites have there uses. If you want to keep them somewhat safe using them then you should zip your files and password protect them. I think it should be an option to be able to use them on this site.
Maybe just make a new section for just those files.
I know it is a financial burden to whoever runs this site to do this way so it's really unfair to ask them to increase the allowed files sizes.

I think that using other sites for HUGE files (1.5 GIG+) is acceptable, but it has to be within reason. If the ONLY thing a person posts are links, and screencaps of movies then that person is a SPAMer. For the movies that are in the large to medium range, then take the time to split them up, Post them here and allow the site to run the way it was designed. There is ALWAYS going to be someone who downloads the work that's put up. Personally I ALWAYS comment on people who take the time to break a movie down, even if I don't particularly like the movie as a whole.
I haven't posted anything filmed on this site and I'm not sure that I'll get the chance to share my own, but you can bet that given the chance, I WOULD take the extra time to split it, rather then ship it off to some other download site... I have no love for those sites.

I think we are having consensus here, apart from the TS and Kusaragi.
The real issue off course, as I have stated in other threads as well, is that the forum is not moderated anymore like it used to be.
The very appreciated mod FistsofFury, who has done a lot for this forum and who was the last mod that actually moderated the forum, seems to have quit (though not officially), which is his good right, no problem at all and I think we owe him respect and thanks for what he has done for this forum.
The fact remains however, that any moderator paying some attention would have deleted the hotlinks, locked the threads and eventually would have banned the TS's if they continued posting hotlinks (like Fists always did faithfully).
There are plenty of fora where you can find tons and tons of links to depositfiles/rapidshare and sites alike. Nothing wrong with that, but this forum has always had some exclusivity; members posting their own home material (or directly accessible rare/vintage material in the movie/pics sharing sections) and enthousiastically discussing our little perverted hobby in numerous threads. And, as said, well moderated.
Currently, there are "members" now (or spambots?) that do nothing but posting links to payed dl sites. They do not reply to replies or to other threads. This is such a pity!
I have offered already to help moderating the forum. I have been a faithfull member since 2006 or 2007, though I had to register again when the "new" forum started in 2008. I am not sure I will be able to put as much time in it as Fists did for instance, but anything would be better than this situation. If there were only a few mods that could spend maybe an hour per week removing spam and keep an eye on etiquette, maybe this forum could regain some of its grandeur again...
